Ethics Courses

Most state licensing boards require continuing education courses in ethics for psychologists, social workers, mental health counselors, MFTs, substance abuse counselors, and other practitioners. The number of ethics credits and course requirements varies by state and by licensing board. For example, many states require one to three ethics credits, and course requirements are general in scope. Some states, such as Florida and California, have special requirements for ethics courses for psychologists, marriage and family therapists, social workers, and mental health counselors.
